A thriving business location at the heart of a revitalised and vibrant premier European city
Extra time for Football Awards entries
The entry deadline for this year’s MBNA North West Football Awards has been extended due to unprecedented demand.
Organisers revealed that World Cup fever has led to a significant increase in enquiries about the awards, compared to previous years, and have decided to extend the deadline to allow more businesses to enter.
The final date for entries is now July 21 and companies across the region who work within the football industry are encouraged to enter and gain recognition for the work they do across the sport.
With categories celebrating both professional and business services to the sport, awards will also recognise clubs’ activities both on and off the pitch with prizes given for work including marketing and community activity.
Katherine Swift, organiser of the MBNA North West Football Awards, said: “Though the awards have historically generated huge interest, this year has been exceptional with record enquiries.
“We’ve been sifting through the entries we’ve already received and there really is a wealth of talent in the North West working both at and with our football clubs. It should make for our best awards yet.”
More than 450 VIP guests from the football and business world will attend the MBNA North West Football Awards, which was launched in 2007 and has become one of the highlights of the sporting season.
Chester-based MBNA, a subsidiary of the Bank of America, is the title sponsor of the event which takes place on 11 October 2010 at Lancashire County Cricket Club.
Footballers, from the Premier League to the Blue Square Conference, will compete for player awards chosen by the general public and a special goal of the year award will be voted for by guests on the night.
