Bruntwood pledges £50,000 to children’s hospice

The Liverpool office of Bruntwood has pledged to raise £50,000 for a local children’s hospice.

Bruntwood will coordinate a fundraising drive for Merseyside’s Claire House over a three year period.

Bruntwood will engage with staff and customers across its 11 buildings, throughout Liverpool, in a host of fundraising events including golf days, bike rides and runs. The full programme of events will be announced shortly.

David Guest, Liverpool Regional Director of Bruntwood, said: “Our commitment to the local areas in which we operate is important to us and we’re proud that over the next three years, our Liverpool office will be supporting Claire House. It is a fantastic facility that really helps families in difficult times. ”

Helen Carlson, Merseyside area fundraiser at Claire House, said: “It takes £2.5 million to keep Claire House functioning each year so we are extremely grateful to Bruntwood and all our fundraisers for their hard work in raising money and awareness.”

Claire House Children’s Hospice based in Bebington provides respite, palliative and end of life care for young people with life threatening or life limiting illness and their families. The Hospice look after children from a wide area including Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man.

The Liverpool office of Claire House Children’s Hospice also provides a Hospice to Home service. Nurses use it as an outreach base in order to provide further support for families including those recently bereaved.

North of England property company, Bruntwood owns 90 buildings across Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester. Each year Bruntwood donates 10 per cent of its profits to local arts, charitable and civic initiatives across these four cities.
