Good access and being able to park easily and safely are critical to the succes of the Commercial District. Whilst Liverpool CDP acknowledges the importance of sustainable public transport, it is vital that we strike a balance that ensures good road and parking provision.

In addition to innovative schemes such as the UK’s first Car Stacker at the Albany Building, the 1,100 space New Quay Car Park is being uprgraded and refurbished by its new owners, Downing. English Cities Fund has constructed a new state of the art 397 space multi-storey car park at St Paul’s Square, and continues to work with NCP to bring forward a new 1500 space multi-storey on Leeds St that will unlock the Pall Mall site for redevelopment.

Liverpool CDP is also working with Liverpool Vision and the City Council to ensure that signage into and around the area from major gateways to the city is user friendly. Likewise, the views of the Partnership will be fed into the review of the changes that have been made as part of the implementation of the City Centre Movement Strategy, including the introduction of two-way traffic and bus lanes on Tithebarn St.
