Liverpool city centre is one of the safest in the country with a long, consistent trend of falling levels of crime. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Commercial District, where crime levels are virtually non-existent.
By tapping into the mechanisms already put in place by the city’s acclaimed Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership, Citysafe, Liverpool CDP is concentrating its efforts on ensuring the area remains safe and in reducing the fear of crime.
A number of initiatives have already been implemented including the establishment of a radio link, which enables security, concierge and operational staff to share intelligence with the police and regular updates on any suspicious activity in and around the area. A number of other projects will be introduced over the coming months including:
- coordination and management of private CCTV systems, with a link to the police & council control rooms
- A Help Point on Old Hall St with an audio link to the CCTV control room
- Introduction of street wardens
- Later opening of the Old Hall St entrance to Moorfields Station
- Business Continuity Management
