Public Transport City Centre Circulars

City Centre Circulars - Linking Liverpool

S1 Route

If you want to travel around Liverpool City Centre with ease, then why not try out one of Merseytravel’s City Centre Circular bus routes to get where you want to go!

In it’s distinctive livery, this service links the main city centre public transport interchanges:

  • Queen Square Bus Station
  • Lime Street, Moorfields and James Street Merseyrail stations
  • National Express Coach Station, Norton Street

With the city’s hotels, shops and ‘must see’ attractions , such as:

The waterfront, Mersey Ferries and Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool (ACC Liverpool)
The Albert Dock, Beatles Story Exhibition, Tate Liverpool and Maritime Museum
Hope Street, with Liverpool’s two cathedrals at each end
Liverpool Museum, Walker Art Gallery and Cavern Quarter

All the bus stops along the S1 route will display the S1 icon, so you know you’re waiting at the right stop. With a bus up to every 10 minutes, you won’t have to wait long for the S1!

S2/S3 Routes

These are circular services (Route S2 operates anti-clockwise, Route S3 operates clockwise) that again link public transport interchanges, but also serve many city centre hotels and retail areas to the north of the city.

Routes S2 and S3 are ideal if you’re travelling to or from the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal or City of Liverpool Cruise Terminal, as they’ll take you right into the heart of the city centre.
